RE: Sewer hose storage

On my toyhauler, they put in one of those small storage compartments made for sewer hose. Worthless. It won't hold a hose with any fittings. I need to do this mod to mine. Thanks for the info.

RE: Help with Direct TV set-up

Okay, this whole tripod deal looks pretty tempting....one more question though. One of my main goals is to still be able to view my "Game Day" programming so I can catch my football games while we are out camping. Is that still possible? What ever service/programming you have at home follows you with the box. Very nice.

RE: More Arizona speed camera's

My only thought is to the speeders... what gives you the right to put me and my family's life in danger? I think it's great to generate money. If that bothers you then DON"T SPEED!

RE: A&E Electric Awning Retrofit Info

I have one of those awnings and hate it when it rains. Worthless. Whoever thought up the idea and whoever approved it should be fired. AE should retro fit every single awning they've sold on their dime.

RE: Help with Ford truck

Another thing you can do is go to a Ford dealer and ask if they can run an Oasis report. That will give you all the service it's had from a dealer.

RE: At Last, a New Gas Can Spout

How fancy.... The problem I have with the newer spouts is they aren't long enough to fill my cars. My VW Rabbit, I have to use a screwdriver to open the "flap" so the gas will go in the tank. They are just long enough to use on my 92 F150. Those with the valve are WAY to short to fit into a filler neck. I retrofitted my gas jugs with vent caps from Coleman so now they flow like the old style cans.

RE: Stellar or Sandsport by Forest River

Just a bit more info on my Shockwave. Loaded with a Rhino and 2 atvs, full water and gear she weighed in at 12,140 pounds, 1180 tongue weight. I found it impossible to get a 60/40 split weight wise over the axle center line like all the decals inside say. We took a 9 day trip from AZ to CO with the Rhino and 1 atv, no water in the tank, just 1/2 full black tank. On the road, she did OK. No sway to speak of but the wind did push us around some. If the highway was in bad shape she bounced around. Of all my travel trailers, one 18', a 27' & a 30' this one sure lets you know she's there.

RE: Stellar or Sandsport by Forest River

I have the T29FBSP Shockwave model. I can tell you this thing is big!. Overall length is over 34'. I tow it with a Dodge diesel. Your Suburban will have it's work cut out for it. Fit and finish is so so. I've had to tighten several water lines and a handfull of screws. The T29FBSP has a 15,000 gvw while the Stellar is 12,000. I'd imagine the Stellar is dual axle while the F29FBSP is tripple axle.

RE: Power Awning mod

Thanks for the reply. How well do the holes drain? Quick enough to withstand a good down pour? My awning is like 20' long or so so I'm thinking a row of 4 or 5 may be best.

RE: Power awning and rain building up

There are 2 levels of power awnings from AE. One is the weather pro whic has a wind sensor and a rain dump feature. The other is just a plain jane power awning. It will not dump. I too have one of these "bright idea" awnings and would rather have the old manual type. AE was no help, just telling me that the model I have doesn't have a rain dump feature. Well duh! Here is another post on the topic.

Don't forget to do your final adjusting with the hauler loaded like you'd have it for a trip.

RE: Power Awning mod

What a great idea. I too have the power awning from AE and I'm not a fan. I sent AE an email asking about rain and they basicly said nothing can be done. Rolling up the awning when it rains is not an option(unless it's a really bad storm) I don't know about anyone else but I like sitting outside during a rain and I have plenty of things on the patio I don't want wet. How hard was the install? Can it be done with the awning on the trailer?

RE: I'm so burnt out on my Toybox research

I have a Shockwave T29FBSP bumper pull. I can fit one Rhino and 2 quads in it. They have a new model F34SKSP 5ver that has a similar layout. It should hold the same. They don't have any specs yet online.

RE: Exahust Muffler System for a F350 V10 2008.

You will NOT get a deep, rumbly sound from the V10. Ricer, Indycar kind of roar yes. There are plenty of aftermarket exhaust companies out there that make a dual exit system just don't expect a good sound or any added performance.
